In response to:
The Spirit of Play from the November 3, 2005 issue
To the Editors:
Your review of Decreation: Poetry, Essays, Opera by Anne Carson [Charles Simic, “The Spirit of Play,” NYR, November 3, 2005] incorrectly stated that “her first book of poems, Glass, Irony and God, came out in 1995.” Actually, her first book of poems was Canicula di Anna, published in 1984 in the Quarterly Review of Literature Poetry Book Series. The book was one of the five $1,000 prize-winning volumes in the QRL Poetry Book Series, Volume XXV.
