Not in the Army

To the Editors:

While I appreciate Pankaj Mishra’s reference to my book Not a Good Day to Die: The Untold Story of Operation Anaconda in the footnotes to his article on “The Real Afghanistan” [NYR, March 10], I must correct his description of me as “an Army journalist.” I am a full-time reporter for Army Times, an independent weekly newspaper published by Gannett. I am not, nor have I ever been, employed by the US Army.
