To the Editors:

In connection with a planned publication of letters of Katharine Grant Sterne (1907– 1944), an alumna of Wellesley College, class of 1928, I would like to hear from persons who knew her or corresponded with her, and to see copies of letters and memorabilia.

To the Editors:

In The Yale Book of Quotations (Yale University Press, 2006), I collect many quotations omitted from the standard quotation dictionaries and correct many inaccuracies in those standard works. For possible future editions of The Yale Book of Quotations, I would welcome contributions of other omitted sayings in and corrections of the standard volumes (as well, of course, as any pertaining to my own volume).

To the Editors:

For a study on the life and work of Earl Brewster (1878–1957) and Achsah Barlow Brewster (1878–1945), American expatriate painters who lived in Italy, France, and India, I would welcome information about letters and paintings in private hands. Earl Brewster came from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Achsah Barlow Brewster from New Haven, Connecticut. Their circle of friends included Willa Cather, D.H. Lawrence, Vachel Lindsay, and the Nehru family.
