To the Editors:
Your readers may be interested to know that, as part of the Salzburg Festival, there will be a discussion of art and politics between David Hare, one of Britain’s leading theater directors and playwrights (Stuff Happens, Via Dolorosa, etc.), and the Nobel Prize–winning Turkish novelist Orhan Pamuk. They have agreed to explore themes developed by Hare in his book of lectures Obedience, Struggle and Revolt. The discussion, which will be in English, will take place on August 10 at 5:00 PM in the Auditorium of Salzburg University. Tickets (price —15) are obtainable from the Salzburg Festival Box Office, www.salzburgerfestspiele.at. The New York Review is a cosponsor of this program, which will be moderated by yours truly,
