In Frank Kermode’s article on William and Dorothy Wordsworth [“The Dear, Dear Friend,” NYR, October 22], William wrote “We Are Seven” and “The Thorn” in early 1798, before he and Dorothy moved to the Lake District in December 1799. During the Wordsworths’ trip to Germany in 1798–1799, Samuel Taylor Coleridge traveled with them only for the first two weeks.
