Natalie Diaz is a Pulitzer Prize–winning Mojave American poet, language activist, former professional basketball player, and educator. She was born and raised in the Fort Mojave Indian reservation and is an enrolled member of the Gila River Akimel O’otham community. She is a Macarthur Foundation Fellow, a Lannan Literary Fellow, a Native Arts Council Foundation Artist Fellow, and a Professor at Arizona State University, where she is the founding director of the Center for Imagination in the Borderlands.
